Springtime Upland Birds Workshop
Springtime is magical in the Yorkshire Dales as a variety of upland birds return to the area to begin courtship and breeding. Curlew, Lapwing, Golden Plover, Merlin, Oystercatchers, Redshank, Short Eared Owls, Wheatear, Ring Ouzel, Meadow Pipits and Skylarks are just some of the species that breed here. Of course there are also the Red Grouse who live here all year round.
The workshop will start at dawn in order to capture some of the best light of the day. Working from a comfortable Land Rover Discovery in a safari-style I can ensure you get close to the action and with only two persons, plus myself, per workshop you can be sure of individual attention and the best chance of great images.
A packed lunch will be provided and we will be traveling to a number of different locations during the morning. You will need a camera with at least a 300mm (or equivalent) lens (500mm lenses are ideal) plus extenders/teleconvertors and a beanbag. Please wear warm muted coloured clothing where possible and waterproof camera/lens covers are advised.
The workshop will take place over the course of a Spring morning usually starting at 5am (or possibly earlier depending on conditions and attendees wishes). Working through until midday the workshop will allow for 7-8 hours of photography and plenty of images.
Price £150 per person including packed lunch and tea/coffee/water (max 2 persons).
